Ericson-Staton earned an Illinois offer a month after committing to Iowa State
Gavin Ericson-Staton committed to Iowa State on April 11 with every intention to play for the Cyclones. But a month later, the three-star Lombard (Ill.) Montini Catholic offensive lineman received an offer from in-state that was too appealing not to consider.
“It meant a lot to me when Illinois offered me,” Ericson-Staton told Illini Inquirer. “Being from inside the state and always going there for wrestling tournaments, it was always a school that I wanted to be recruited by throughout this process.”
