Sangamon Valley remembering Coach Deno – WANDTV.com

NIANTIC, Ill. (WAND) – Sangamon Valley High School is remembering Dennis ‘Deno’ Hartwig after he died on Wednesday.

He was 76 years old.

‘Coach Deno’ passionately followed Sangamon Valley’s Track and Field teams, always seen carrying a clipboard and wearing a stopwatch around his neck.

The school saying in a Facebook post that he was “the heart and soul of Sangamon Valley Track.”
