Normal, Ill. – The Illinois State cross country program has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2026 season. The Redbirds will compete in four regular season meets, including one home meet, before beginning postseason competition at the MVC Championships.
Illinois State will open its season in Champaign, Illinois, on Friday, September 4, to compete in the Fighting Illini Invitational at 11 a.m., hosted by the University of Illinois. The Redbirds will return home to host the Redbird Invite at the Weibring Golf Club on Friday, September 18, at 10:30 a.m. The women’s program has earned three consecutive titles at the Redbird Invite.
The Redbirds begin October in South Bend, Indiana, on Friday, October 2, for the Joe Piane Invitational at 9 a.m., hosted by Notre Dame. The regular season concludes on Friday, October 16, in Peoria, Illinois, for the Bradley Pink Classic at 11 a.m., marking the sixth-consecutive season the Redbirds will have participated in this event.
Postseason competition starts on Friday, October 30, in Des Moines, Iowa, for the MVC Championships at 10:30 a.m. Two weeks later, on Friday, November 13, the NCAA Midwest Regional takes place in Ames, Iowa, beginning at 11 a.m. Qualifying student-athletes would advance to the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Indiana, on Saturday, November 21 at 11 a.m., hosted by Indiana State University.
