Several Central Illinois baseball teams book sectional-final invites – NewsChannel20

There were plenty of Central Illinois baseball teams looking to punch their ticket into this weekend’s sectional finals.

3A

Champaign Central defeated Glenwood, 3-1, and advances to the Mt. Zion sectional finals. They’ll play U High, who beat Sacred Heart-Griffin on Saturday.

2A

Roxana held a 1-0 lead until the bottom of the 6th against Williamsville. The Bullets’ Brenton Trickey drew a walk with the bases loaded. The game went deep into extra innings. However, Sam Dukett was hit by a pitch with the bases juiced in the 9th to walk it off for Williamsville.

And St. Joseph-Ogden hit three home runs in a 6-3 win over Tri-Valley. They’ll play Unity on Saturday.

And Williamsville defeated Roxana and Pleasant Plains beat Marquette, and will play in the Sectional Final on Saturday.

Armstrong and Gibson City will face off in the sectional-final.

Routt will play United.

And Nokomis will face Pawnee in the Final.
