The in-state offensive linemen has earned several Power Four offers during the last few months
The recruiting floodgates opened for high school football juniors earlier this month. On June 15, college coaches were allowed to start contacting and messaging prospects entering their junior seasons.
That’s led to a flurry of activity for prospects, and Kajus Muralis is a shining example.
Since June 15, the 6-foot-7, 265-pound Waubonsie Valley (Ill.) Class of 2028 offensive tackle has received offers from Notre Dame, Illinois and Purdue. In the month prior, Muralis also had received Power Four offers from Oklahoma State, UCLA and Wisconsin.
Simply, Muralis has solidified himself as one of the most sought-after Class of 2028 prospects in the state of Illinois.
“My recruitment has blown up this June, and it’s been super stressful and exciting at times,” Muralis said.
Illinois hadn’t had much previous contact with Muralis before June, but executive director of player personnel Nate McNeal visited Muralis for an evaluation during the spring. McNeal then reached out and quickly offered the long and athletic offensive tackle prospect on June 22.
