The Chicago White Sox traded Derek Hill to the Phillies for two prospects and activated Everson Pereira from the injured list on Thursday.
The Chicago White Sox made two roster moves on Thursday ahead of their series finale against the Atlanta Braves.
The team traded outfielder Derek Hill to the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for outfield prospect Dylan Campbell, infield prospect Jose Colmenares, and international bonus pool money. They also activated outfielder Everson Pereira from the injured list.
Derek Hill Traded to the Phillies
Hill, 30, had been a waiver claim addition late last season and signed a one-year deal with the White Sox for 2026. He provided speed, defense, and occasional power off the bench. Hill had a memorable moment earlier last week when he hit a key home run in a win over the Phillies, the team he will now suit up for.
The White Sox are moving on from the veteran in favor of adding younger talent to the organization.

Everson Pereira Activated
Pereira returns to the big-league roster after being sidelined with a right pectoral strain. He was placed on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on June 5 and has now been cleared to rejoin the major league club.
The 25-year-old outfielder, acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays last offseason, brings right-handed power potential to a White Sox outfield that has dealt with multiple injuries this season. He will draw into the lineup on Thursday in center.
